The big red rock, everyone knows Uluru right? But seeing this mighty sandstone monolith in person is a whole other story. Standing at 348 metres high and with a circumference of ten kilometres, one of the most interesting features about this national icon is that what you can see is just the tip of the iceberg. It is said to extend a huge 2.5 kilometres below the ground.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Formed millions of years ago when this area was entirely submerged, Uluru may be internationally recognised but due to its remote location, it gets few visitors.
