Then, travel to the Moorish city of Rabat, capital of Morocco, to visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum, dedicated to the founder of modern Morocco, grandfather of the current king. Today, you'll explore the old town in Fes el-Bali, the cultural heart of Morocco. This imperial capital was a renowned centre of medieval learning. Stroll the labyrinth of the old quarter and souks on this market visit and watch local craftsmen and artisans at work. Next, proceed to the intricately detailed 14th-century Karaouine — one of the oldest universities in the world. You also see the Royal Palace and Mellah in Fez el-Jadid after a traditional lunch.

Travel to the small desert of Merzouga, pausing en route for lunch in Midelt and marvelling at everyday life as you pass Berber villages, endless date palm plantations, and the Atlas Mountains. Continue to the desert dunes of Erg Chebbi by four-wheel-drive vehicle, where a reception with mint tea and pastries awaits at your nomadic tented camp. Today, you'll journey overland to Ouarzazate. En route, you'll take in the magnificent views of the High Atlas’ southern slopes, intersecting the Dades Valley’s flourishing crops, irrigation canals, and palm trees. Travel along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” and make a stop to visit at the amazing Dades Gorge and a traditional restaurant for lunch that boasts views across the Dades Valley. After lunch, you'll visit the Glaoui Kasbah before arriving in Ouarzazate.

Begin unearthing the secrets of Marrakech, starting in the Medina, including the soaring Koutoubia Mosque and Minaret and Dar Si Said; housed in a palace, it is among the most beautiful of its kind in the world. Continue to the Bahia Palace and the Tombs of Saadian before enjoying a beautiful Moroccan lunch. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Jemaa el-Fna, Marrakech’s main square which is home to many souks.
