At the start of your Peru culinary tour, you will be welcomed at the airport, driven to your hotel in Lima and have the rest of your day free to spend as you wish. Lima, also known as the 'City of Kings', was founded in 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Located directly on the Pacific coast, Peru’s capital city is a melting pot of cultures where you will encounter people, flavours and history from different regions. The bustling metropolis has something for all tastes and ages.

Today, in the historical centre, you'll admire the colourful colonial architecture around the Plaza San Martín and the main square, Plaza de Armas. From here, you'll visit the San Francisco Monastery and discover its underground maze of tunnels and catacombs. You'll then continue to the Gastronomy Museum, a newly-opened museum spanning thousands of years of the country's culinary history. Afterwards, you'll let yourself be guided through the colourful stands at a typical Peruvian market.

This morning, your driver will take you to the airport for your flight from Lima to Cusco. Upon arrival, you'll transfer from the airport to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. En route, you'll stop to participate in a 30-minute shaman ceremony and to visit the Potato Park. You'll stop at a garden setting where you will take part in a mystical Andean ritual, the shaman ceremony. Despite this being an ancient ritual, it is still part of the current Peruvian culture.

You'll start your tour exploring the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo, one of the few places where the Incas won a battle against the Spaniards. Then, you'll visit Maras and admire over 3,000 salt ponds with a stunning view of the Andes Mountains in the background. In Maras, you will also visit the town where you will have a cooking class in a local house. You'll then continue to Moray, a site with unique circular agricultural terraces, before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

This morning, you'll head to the station for your scenic train journey to Aguas Calientes, at the foot of Machu Picchu. Travelling through the Sacred Valley, you'll pass little villages with the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. Upon arrival, you'll board the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. You'll learn about its discovery and the different theories on how and why it was built, visiting the main plaza, the Temple of Three Windows, the circular tower, the sacred sundial and the burial grounds.

This morning, you'll have the option to visit Machu Picchu again for a more in-depth experience furthering your knowledge after yesterday's visit. Otherwise, you can explore Aguas Calientes in your free time. In the afternoon, you will board the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo from where you will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco. Doing this journey in reverse, you'll be able to appreciate different perspectives and views of the Sacred Valley. Your luggage will be transferred for you.

Then, you'll journey into the past as you explore Sacsayhuamán, the Inca ceremonial fortress dedicated to the sun.

This morning, you'll transfer to the airport and fly to Lima. In the afternoon, you will have a culinary experience in Lima. You'll start with a visit to the Choco Museum where you will learn about the history of the Cacao. Then, you'll leave toward Barranco district considered the capital’s bohemian district. You'll visit Blu, a traditional café, to taste either artisanal ice cream or a typical Peruvian dessert. In the evening, you'll have dinner at Tio Mario to complete the experience.

This morning, you'll be transferred to the bus station for your public bus to Ica. The five-hour bus journey to Ica will be on a public bus with airconditioning, TV, bathroom and other services on board. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Later, you will visit the Winery “Viñas the Oro” where you will be able to learn about the Peruvian Pisco. You will also have the chance to taste the famous “Chilcano” (an alcohol-based drink designed on Pisco).

You will start the day with a city tour of Ica. You will go to the city centre and afterwards head to the Regional Museum. Here, a worthly collection of ceramics, textiles and mommies of the Paracas, Nasca, Wari, Ica Chincha and Inca cultures are exhibited. On a small vineyard, you will try the locally produced Pisco before you end the tour at the oasis Huacachina. In the afternoon, you'll embark on a flight over the mysterious Nasca Lines.
