Starting in Santiago, the first of your capital cities to visit, you'll be introduced to the wonders of Chilean wine, however, it doesn't stop here! Next up is Mendoza, the Argentinean wonder of wine, home to more vineyards than anywhere else in South America!

Your journey continues down to Buenos Aires, a historic city with class and, of course, tango, where a day in the countryside, experiencing the best of life is essential! This trip may be packed with highlights but, when it comes to nature, Iguazu Falls is hard to beat! As one of the largest waterfalls in the world, the mighty roar of Iguazu is something that you will never forget!

Finish your time in Rio de Janeiro, home to endless beautiful cityscapes, fabulous beaches and culture pumping from its streets. There's no better way to rap up this trip!

Day 1

Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel in Santiago. After checking in, you'll discover Chile’s capital city that combines colonial buildings with ultramodern architecture. You'll start your tour downtown on the Alameda, a colourful main avenue with important buildings like the Chilean University, the San Francisco Church, and the Santa Lucia Hill. You'll then tour Plaza de Armas, the central market, and end your tour at San Cristóbal Hill.

From Santiago, you'll head west towards Valparaíso. Declared a World Heritage by UNESCO, Valparaiso offers unique ocean landscapes with colourful neighbourhoods, picturesque cobblestone streets and old cable cars. Then, you'll take the coastal highway to the modern seaside city of Viña del Mar to see the flower clock, the casino, and several beaches. On return to Santiago, you'll head to the Veramonte Winery in Casablanca Valley for a tour and wine tasting.

Cross the Cordillera de Los Andes by bus, an impressive drive with spectacular mountain views. Passing Los Andes, you go up Ruta 60 in the Andean mountains. You drive past Portillo, Chile’s winter sports centre at the foot of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America. Crossing the Argentinean border through a tunnel, you go downhill. You'll see the Puente del Inca, a rock formation resembling a bridge before passing Los Penitentes, Argentina’s best-known ski resort and then reach Mendoza.

Mendoza possesses 70% of the vineyards in the country, making it the main enological centre in South America. Depart to Mendoza's agricultural oasis where you have the opportunity to visit two different vineyards to understand the complete wine making process enjoying a wine tasting. You will combine a visit to one local homemade winery with a visit to a high-quality technology winery so that you can see the differences and similarities in the production of great wines.

Today, you'll have the day free to enjoy Argentina's capital of wine production. You can opt to take part in one of the many tours on offer if you wish. The city is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and fresh air. Through a special irrigation method, the city is in a very fruitful valley - it almost never rains in Mendoza. You can visit neighbouring valleys such as the Uco Valley or meet a local Huarpe community, this is also a great place to go trekking!

From Mendoza, you'll head to the airport for a scenic flight to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. Buenos Aires has a strong European influence which is reflected by its refined taste in cooking, its luxury boutiques and in the elegance of its people. Despite modern constructions and activity, it has managed to preserve old traditions and charming corners. Explore Buenos Aires for the remainder of the day and soak up the atmosphere. In the evening, you may wish to join a cooking class.

Get in touch with the birth city of the tango! Visit the famous Avenida de Mayo, formed by the most important buildings in the city including the Metropolitan Cathedral, a neoclassical church that you'll explore inside! Stop for a traditional coffee before you continue to La Boca and La Recoleta, the city’s most glamorous area centred by its cemetery, one of the most impressive monuments of Argentina. In the evening, you visit Viejo Almacén because a tango show is a must when in Buenos Aires!

You'll have the day to explore the city. Alternatively, head out to explore the nature that surrounds it, enjoy a day in the countryside or visit a market, depending on the day that you are here. Drive to the outskirts of Buenos Aires to the aristocratic northern district of San Isidro to get to Tigre, a charming town with summer residences, yachting and rowing clubs. Take a 1-hour boat trip on the channels of the Tigre Delta to see some of the hundreds of islands or even relax with a barbecue.

Travel to Iguazu Falls and Visit the Argentinean

Travel to Iguazu Falls and Visit the Argentinean

Transfer to Buenos Aires airport for the flight to Iguassu. Upon arrival, transfer to the Argentinean National Park towards the Argentinean side of the falls. You will make a short stop at the visitor’s centre and continue from there along the Inferior Circuit, the down-river falls, to the Superior Circuit and the up-river cascades. The Ecological Jungle Train leads you to an observation point of the falls – The Devil’s Throat. After exploring, you'll transfer to the hotel on the Brazilian side.

Iguacu is one of the biggest natural wonders in South America: located amidst a sub-tropical forest at the meeting point of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, a huge row of waterfalls tumble down into the river Iguassu. In the morning, visit the Brazilian side of the falls. Walk along paths following cascades and then along the catwalk that leads very close to the bottom of the Devil’s Throat to enjoy magnificent views. Take an elevator to go up to the road to board the coach back to the hotel.

In the morning, you'll go to take the cog train up Corcovado mountain, home to the largest Art Deco statue in the world, Christ the Redeemer. When at the top, you'll reach a viewpoint that looks over the statue and the city below. Back in the city, you'll pass by beach after beach until you get to the cable car that takes you up Sugarloaf mountain for an entirely different view. You'll finish the day in the downtown area to visit the city's churches and finish at the site of Carnevale!
