Start your Peru travel experience with a full day of discoveries in the bohemian neighbourhood of Barranco and the colonial quarters of the city centre. In the afternoon, a driver will take you around a tour of Lima visiting some of the city's most interesting landmarks. You will see the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Plaza San Martin as well as the San Francisco Convent, a stunning example of well-preserved colonial architecture.

You will be transferred to Lima airport today to catch a short two-hour flight bound for Arequipa. Enjoy a free afternoon in Arequipa, the white city, which is best explored strolling around its streets and admiring its colonial buildings. You can head towards the historical centre of Arequipa, where you will find a blend of European and native architecture. You can also visit Yanahuara Scenic Overlook, one of the most famous churches in the city.

In the morning, depart at 8 am in a private group vehicle for Colca, whose canyon is one of the deepest in the world. On your way, you will cross the Salinas Aguada Blanca National Preserve and the Patapampa Pass, where you can take in the magnificent landscapes and possibly observe vicunas and other camelids that are native to this area. In the afternoon, walk to the Uyo Uyo ruins and take a dip in the thermal baths of Yanque.

Start your day at 6:30 am with a stop at Cruz del Condor at the heart of the Colca Canyon to observe Andean condors in flight. After you will visit a number of picturesque local villages, such as Maca, Achoma and Pinchollo. In the afternoon, you will embark on a 4-5 hour hike up to the village of Coporaque, which witnessed the peaceful conquest of the Inca's valley.

Travel to Puno

You have the morning free to relax around Colca, followed by a journey to the charming town of Chivay. After, you will take a touristic bus from Chivay to Puno. On the way, you will stop at the Patapampa Volcano Viewpoint, pass through the crater of Chucura Volcano and stop at Lagunillas to observe birds and lagoons. You will arrive in Puno at 19:30 where you can relax at your hotel for the rest of the evening.

Embark for Lake Titicaca

Embark for Lake Titicaca

In the morning set off for Lake Titicaca, where you will take a 25-minute cruise and visit the Uros floating islands. These islands are not natural - the Uros ethnic group, whose main activity is fishing, built them. Later, head for Amantani, where you will be welcomed by a local family. In the afternoon you will take a walk up to the highest point of the island and visit the archaeological sites dedicated to Pachamama and Pachapapa. Have dinner and spend the night in a local family's home.

Exploring Taquile island

Exploring Taquile island

In the morning leave Amantani and hop on a boat for a one-hour cruise to Taquile, an island of great cultural interest, where residents live in harmony with the ancestral traditions. Much of the community on this island is self-sufficient and are known for their colourful textiles that are dyed by the women and sewn by the men. You will come back to Puno in the mid-afternoon and then will be transferred to your hotel for the night.

Catch a bus to Cusco and admire the beautiful landscapes along the way via the Col de la Raya, at 4,320 metres above the sea level. Stop in the village of Pukara and its small parade ground before continuing to Raqchi in order to visit the temple of Wiracocha. The day will end with a visit to Andahuaylillas, known as the Sistine Chapel of Peru for its inner beauty. This is a vital stop during your Peru travels. Arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon.

Spend the day at your leisure in Cusco. In the morning, you can go to the San Pedro market to discover the many varieties of exotic fruits that you will only find in Peru, in addition to cusqueño bread, local cheeses, as well as florists and craftsmen of all kinds! You can then go to the Plaza de Armas to visit the cathedral of Cusco, surely one of the most beautiful religious monuments in the country.

You will leave early in the morning to head to Pisac village, known for its ruins and its artisanal market. You will then go to Amaru village to meet your hosts - local villagers living at more than 3,800 metres of altitude. They will show you their weaving techniques, and you will then have lunch prepared by the community. In the afternoon, you will be able to participate in several activities with the community before enjoying dinner with the Amaru inhabitants.

On Your Way to Machu Picchu

In the early morning, a private driver will take you along the sacred river Urubamba. You will visit the cultural site of Moray, an old agricultural Inca lab. Then you will discover Maras: salt works in the middle of the mountains! Upon arriving in Ollantaytambo, visit the fortress, that was a military, religious and agricultural centre. After, board a train to Aguas Calientes, the starting point for visiting Machu Picchu.

Arrive at Machu Picchu, one of the 7 great wonders of the world! Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city dating from the 15th century. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca Empire, Machu Picchu is now considered as a masterpiece of Inca architecture. Together with your English-speaking guide, you will explore the archaeological complex still covered in the morning mist, built on top of a ridge and surrounded by precipices. Take the train back to Poroy afterwards.

After breakfast at your hotel, a driver will collect you at your hotel lobby and transfer you to the airport in Cusco. Catch a short 1.5-hour flight to Lima, where a private vehicle will take you to your hotel in the city centre. You have the rest of the day to explore Lima at your leisure. You can spend some time at the lively Surquillo market packed with products from Peru. You can also head to the bohemian Barranco neighbourhood, that is lined with street art, boutiques and colonial mansions.
