Overview

Embark on this superb five-day scenic holiday in the north of England. For the duration of the tour, you will overnight in Liverpool, while spending your days exploring the north of England and all its treasures.

You'll spend your first days exploring the maritime city of Liverpool and its iconic waterfront buildings. This trip will also take you to the picturesque Lake District where you'll spend the day visiting Grasmere, the home of the famous poet William Wordsworth, and visit Lake Windermere, England's largest lake.

The rest of your England tour will be spent exploring Manchester, where you'll have a delightful afternoon tea, and the medieval walled city of York, where you'll finish the grand York Minster.

Of course, what is a trip to Liverpool without spending a day delving into the history of one of Liverpool's most famous exports, The Beatles!

Day 1

Welcome to Liverpool!

Welcome to Liverpool!

You will arrive in Liverpool at Lime Street Station and then check in to your hotel which is opposite. Upon check-in, you'll receive everything you need to make your England tour enjoyable including maps and any vouchers you will need for the rest of your trip. In the afternoon, you'll head out on a guided tour of the waterfront home to many of Liverpool's iconic buildings and an important centre of trade in the past centuries. In the evening, you'll enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 2

Lake District National Park

Today, you'll meet your guide outside the Museum of Liverpool in William Brown Street which is a short walk from your hotel. From here, you'll head up to the Lake District by car with a local guide who will show you around the beautiful village of Grasmere, famous for being home to the poet William Wordsworth and his sister, Dorothy. You'll also visit Bowness on Windermere to see dramatic mountain scenery with the option of taking a cruise on Lake Windermere. You'll have dinner at your hotel.

Manchester Day Out

After breakfast in the hotel, you'll travel from Lime Street Station to Manchester by train where on arrival, you can take the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. You'll see many sights and also enjoy afternoon tea at the famously, magnificent Manchester Midland Hotel. There will be maps of Manchester and all the vouchers for your day out in your welcome pack. Whilst in Manchester, you'll be able to soak up the atmosphere of this important city and visit the John Rylands Library among many other sights.

Day 4

Day Out to York

After breakfast in the hotel, you'll take the train to the City of York. You'll explore this wonderful medieval city by open-top bus Iand use your pass included in your welcome pack to visit places like the York Minster and to take a cruise on the River Ouse. You'll also be able to visit the National Railway Museum. As you wander around the 'Shambles' area, you'll be spoilt for choice as to where to have lunch with all the wonderful cafes and tea rooms around.

Day 5

The Beatles Story

The Beatles Story

After breakfast, you will check out and then go to meet your local Beatles Tour Guide at the waterfront Beatles Statues for a 90-minute guided walk through the World Heritage Site to visit the Cavern Club where The Beatles played in the 1960s. Next, you'll visit St John's Beacon for panoramic views of the city before heading to the Royal Albert Dock to visit The Beatles Story Museum. After this, your England tour reaches its end. You'll collect your bags and catch the train to the airport.
