Experience the vibrancy, smells and bustle of Moroccan and Berber cultures as you take a six-day Sahara desert trip from Fes to Marrakesh.

You'll wander through the twisting alleyways of Fes' medieval medina and you'll gaze in awe at the fire eaters and snake charmers of the fabled Djemaa el-Fna in Marrakesh.

You'll stay in a desert tented camp amid the Erg Chebbi Dunes of Merzouga, before moving onto the most mesmerising area of the Moroccan desert. Finally, you'll climb into the Atlas Mountains for a different perspective of this amazing country, embracing the beauty of its diversity.

Day 1

You'll be welcomed at Fes airport by your guide who will give you a brief overview of the trip to come on the way to the hotel. Upon arrival, you'll check-in and have plenty of time to relax and head out to explore Fes if you wish to do so. In the evening, you'll have dinner at the hotel.

Today, you'll start the sightseeing tour with the exquisitely decorated Medersa el-Attarine, close to the spice and perfume market. Then you'll head to Bou Inania, widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Marinid architecture. The best way to explore Fes is without expectation or knowing exactly where you want to go. The best place to do this is in the markets of Fes El Jdid, one of the four main districts of the city.

Today, you'll travel to the small desert of Merzouga, pausing en route for lunch in Midelt and marvelling at everyday life as you pass Berber villages, endless date palm plantations and the Atlas Mountains. You'll continue to the desert dunes of Erg Chebbi, where a reception with mint tea and pastries awaits at your nomadic camp. As the sun sets over the dunes, celebrate your unforgettable desert foray with a scenic sundowner and a traditional meal in front of a campfire.

Today, you'll set off for Marrakesh with stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains along with way, broken up by the Dades Valley’s flourishing crops, irrigation canal, and palm trees. You'll travel along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” and make a stop to visit an amazing, small private museum that houses exhibits showcasing local art, culture and history, before continuing to Marrakesh, your final destination on this trip.

From Marrakesh, you will be taken to the High Atlas Mountains, through mountain passes and valleys; both very refreshing in summer. You'll walk on the hundred-year-old paths taken by the local of the villages. You'll have a picnic lunch facing the mountain, an opportunity to deepen your knowledge on this rural part of Morocco, the locals and their lifestyles. You'll return to Marrakesh in the early evening.

Today, you'll enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then spend some final moments in the city to mark the end of your Sahara Desert trip from Fes to Marrakesh. You'll then spend the day visiting the famous sites of Marrakesh and the famous Djemaa El Fna square with its surrounding souks and handicraft centres. When you're ready, your driver will take you to the airport and wish you a safe journey.
