Overview
Embark on a week-long discovery of the small-but-mighty archipelago on a Malta vacation in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. This collection of islands have a long-standing history and there is so much to be discovered here.
Basing yourself in the historical capital city of Valletta, you'll spend seven days exploring the islands with a local tour guide. From the breathtaking 16th-century mansions and streets of Valletta to the Hagar Qim temples, Blue Grotto and Marsaxlokk Fishing Village.
You'll also spend a day absorbing Gozo’s unique atmosphere, with your guide leading you around the Megalithic temples of Ggantija, the oldest free-standing monuments in the world. Lastly, you'll delight in a touch of wine tasting in the central part of Malta which is largely dominated by the medieval fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city.

Day 1
Welcome to Malta!

You will be met by your driver at the airport and escorted to the vehicle for your transfer to your chosen hotel. A meeting will be organised with one of your local guides at the hotel to go over the Malta vacation itinerary. You'll then have the rest of the afternoon to spend as you wish to explore Valletta and its wonderful 16th-century sites.

Explore the City of Valletta

On this tour, you will first visit the capital city, Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nowhere on earth concentrates as much turbulent history into such a small landmass as the Maltese islands and the capital city of Valletta. This tour on your Malta vacation will take you through the bustling streets of Valletta allowing you to view the Barrakka Gardens with a breath-taking panorama of the Grand Harbour. Valletta preserves much of its 16th-century architectural heritage.

Temples & Marsaxlokk Village Day Tour

Today, you'll spend the day discovering Hagar Qim temples, Blue Grotto and Marsaxlokk Fishing Village. The tour starts with a visit to Hagar Qim, Malta’s main pre-historic site, overlooking the wide expanse of the blue Mediterranean and the islet of Filfla. You will proceed to the Blue Grotto - renowned for its azure blue sea. You'll then visit Marsaxlokk, a small picturesque village in the southeastern coast of Malta, located around a natural harbour.

Day 4
Full-Day Tour to Gozo from Valletta

Today, you'll travel by car and ferry to the Mġarr harbour, which immediately sets the pace to Gozo’s unique atmosphere. Your guide will lead you around the Megalithic temples of Ggantija, the oldest free-standing monuments in the world. This will be followed by visits to the medieval citadel in Victoria, the fjord-like bay at Xlendi and Dwejra with its dramatic coastal formations. You'll be impressed by the island’s countryside, its serene atmosphere and how different it is.

Mdina, Mosta, Dingli Cliffs, Wine Tasting & Ta Qali Craft Village

Today’s full-day tour takes you to the central part of Malta, dominated by the medieval fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city. You will start the tour with a stop at Mosta Church, Europe’s third-largest, free-standing dome. You will then visit the crafts centre at Ta’ Qali. From here, you'll proceed to the winery in the vicinity where you will taste three local wines. You'll then proceed to the medieval town of Mdina and later, the imposing cliffs of Dingli.

The Three Cities Tour

Today, you'll discover the Grand Harbour area opposite Valletta known as the Three Cities – Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea, where the Knights of St. John first settled in 1530. Driving past Cospicua, you'll reach Vittoriosa for a walking tour through the narrow streets in the shade of historic buildings. You'll then take a typical harbour boat for a tour of the colourful harbour creeks. From the Senglea Garden at the tip of the peninsula, you'll enjoy a stunning view of the Grand Harbour.
