Today, you'll leave Negombo behind and drive the scenic route to the city of Kandy. Set on a plateau surrounded by mountains which are home to tea plantations and a biodiverse rainforest; Kandy is a very beautiful city. The city's heart is the stunning Kandy Lake, which is popular for walking around. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth shrine, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa.

Today brings a trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens, where you can see beautifully kept flowers and vegetation native to Sri Lanka. It has a collection of over 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. After lunch at Aloy's restaurant, you'll continue on a tour around the city, you will visit several interesting sites and a traditional gem store. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a traditional cultural dance show.

Today you'll drive to the tea country, where you'll have fantastic views out over the plantations and will see the locals working on the harvest. Nuwara Eliya is commonly nicknamed 'Little England' due to the feel of the area being reminiscent of the English countryside. En route, you'll visit the Ramboda Falls viewpoint and a tea factory before arriving at the hotel where you can enjoy a free afternoon.

Today, you'll experience the romantic view from the highest mountain in Sri Lanka, known as ‘Piduruthalagala Mountain’. Following this, you'll drive over to the New Zealand and Ambewala Farms where you'll see the cows and learn about how a dairy farm works in Sri Lanka. Walking among these farms will ease your mind and you'll be able to appreciate the beauty of the Sri Lankan countryside as you do. Dinner will be served in the hotel in the evening.

You'll begin the day with a delicious breakfast followed by some free time to relax in the hotel and make use of the facilities or explore Nuwara Eliya at your leisure. In the afternoon, you'll venture out for a romantic tour around Gregory Lake which is surrounded by lush scenery and a fresh mountain breeze. Driving around Nuwara Eliya you'll begin to appreciate why this town is often referred to as 'Little England' with its Georgian houses and stunning gardens.

Today, you'll be heading to Mirissa, Sri Lanka's main whale and dolphin watching area, where these giants of the ocean are seen in abundance along with large pods of dolphins in the migration season. The drive will take around 5-6 hours with regular stops to stretch your legs. During this drive through the Sri Lankan countryside, you'll pass through many villages and towns which will give you a greater sense of what this beautiful country is like.

Today, you'll head out onto the water for an adventure you will never forget; whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa. One of the most exciting water activities, you will be able to see blue whales swimming around and dolphins racing in the sea; it is possible to see blue whales just a few miles offshore. In the evening, you'll have the chance to enjoy a candlelit romantic dinner on the beach under the twinkling stars to finish off a day of memories you will never forget.

Today, you'll set off to discover Hummanaya Blowhole, a geological feature sometimes found along coastal regions and this is the only one in Sri Lanka. The phenomenon occurs when the tide fills underwater caverns with seawater. Following this, you'll head towards Galle, where you'll be able to see the talented stilt fishermen. Stilt fishing is a fishing method unique to the people of Sri Lanka. You'll finish the day relaxing at a beautiful candlelit beach dinner.

Continuing further south, you'll reach Bentota, Sri Lanka's famous serene sandy beach. There is a plethora of activities to indulge in including snorkelling, sailing, diving or canoeing. En route, you'll visit Galle Dutch Fort which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, have the option to enjoy a river cruise at Madu River, where you will see beautiful mangrove islands teeming with wildlife and nature. Before reaching Bentota, you'll also stop to visit a sea turtle hatchery.

Today, you'll have a free day to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You'll have plenty of time to explore and shop in boutiques filled with international branded items, local art and fabrics.
