Welcome to Yangon! This tour gives you the perfect balance of culture, history, religion and art, with a twist of the local ways of life. You'll experience fast-paced adventures and then slow it down with some relaxation in nature.

You'll travel to the most loved places in Myanmar, starting in Yangon, moving to the cultural sights of Bagan, Mandalay and then onto Inle Lake to witness life and vegetation on the second largest lake in Myanmar.

Day 1

Welcome to Yangon! Today marks the first day of your Myanmar adventure. Once you arrive in Yangon, you'll be taken straight to explore some of Yangon's highlights. First, you'll visit the Great Royal Lake and Yangon High Court, an iconic colonial building with red brick architecture reminiscent of British Queen Anne style. You'll then head to your hotel and enjoy a free evening where you can get acquainted with the great city of Yangon.

Today, you'll fly from Yangon to Bagan where you'll explore many ancient sites held dear to this country. To start, you'll visit the famous Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the oldest and most impressive in Bagan, and experience the traditional way of life in Pwa Saw Village. You'll also visit some of the most important temples in the area such as Dhammayangyi Pagoda, Thatbyinnyu and Ananda Temple. After lunch, you'll take a sunset horse and cart to ride around in the ancient city.

Start your morning in Bagan at the vibrant and colourful Nyaung U local market. After the market, you'll visit Salay, the Yokesone Monastery, one of the oldest surviving wooden monasteries, as well as other interesting sights around Yangon. Come the afternoon, you'll step back in time to a time reminiscent of English Saxon times at Kyun Thiri Island, a village built on stilts. Before heading back to Bagan, you'll enjoy a sunset boat ride down the Ayeyarwady River.

Today you'll fly from Bagan to Mandalay in the morning. Once you arrive in Mandalay, you'll visit Amarapura, the former capital of Myanmar and the home of the impressive U-Bein Bridge, followed by a visit to Tampawaddy where you'll learn about bronze casting. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Mandalay Royal Palace, the Shwenandaw Pagoda and Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the largest book for its 729 marble inscriptions throughout the temple.

In the morning, you'll pay a visit to Mingun, where you will see the world-famous Mingun Bell, once the largest functioning bell in the world weighing over 90 tonnes. Afterwards, you'll head to Sagaing Hill which is home to over 600 white-washed pagodas and monasteries. Following Sagaing, you'll take a boat to Ava where you'll be able to see the working life of the fisherman and those who live on the Irrawaddy River, as well as visiting two stunning monasteries.

In the morning, you'll join in a traditional Burmese cooking class. After a trip to the local market to collect ingredients, you'll learn how to cook authentic Burmese food and enjoy it afterwards in a traditional Burmese hut. Following the cooking class, you'll burn off the calories with an afternoon bike ride around the countryside, visiting several local villages along the route. Your final stop will be Yankin Hill to enjoy the magnificent sunset views and marvel at Mandalay below.

Today, you'll fly from Mandalay to He Ho, the gateway to Inle Lake. Once you arrive, you'll be driven to Nyaung Shwe where you'll take a boat to visit the second largest lake in Myanmar, Inle Lake. You'll spend the day visiting various pagodas, included the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, monasteries and the villages that surround Inle Lake. You'll be able to learn about the local life and the peculiar technique of the fishermen.

In the morning, you'll travel to the Samkar region which is not far from Inle Lake. You'll visit the villages in the surrounding area and learn more about life in this fairytale-like town. Samkar is one of the few untouched places around Inle Lake and you'll be able to get stunning photos of sunken stupas in the water. You'll also pass through sugarcane plantations and bamboo forests, getting right into the nature side of this area.

Return to Yangon

Today, you'll fly back to Yangon to spend your final days exploring this wonderful city and all it has to offer. First stop, once you arrive, will be the Yangon Circular Train, the main form of transport used by many locals so a great way to observe local life. You'll also visit Chaukhtatgyi Temple, and Bogyoke Aung Sann Market, a huge flea market in Yangon. The afternoon will be spent on a guided tour of the magnificent golden Shwedagon Pagoda.
