Overview

During 11 days in Vietnam, you'll journey from north to south and discover all of the highlights in this wonderful country that simply cannot be missed!

Starting in the north, you'll tour around the city of 1000 years, then travel to Halong Bay for a relaxing overnight cruise on the emerald water with many activities to choose from. Then fly to the centre of Vietnam to go to Hoi An to see the ancient town and the impressive My Son Sanctuary ruins.

Continue the trip with a fantastic drive via the Hai Van Pass to Hue Imperial Citadel and spend a day learning about the history of Vietnam before flying to Ho Chi Minh city. Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels to learn more about the Vietnam War and visit some other famous sights in Ho Chi Minh city.

The trip finishes with a visit to Mekong Delta for a bit of cycling and a visit to the floating markets where you'll see locals going about their daily life.

Upon your arrival at Hanoi airport, your private driver will greet you and escort you to your hotel in the Old Quarter. The rest of the day is for you to relax and recover from jet lag or to explore Hanoi. This city has a vibrant street life, a unique blend of old and new architecture and friendly people that's great to explore on foot. You can also join some optional tours with a private tour guide.

After breakfast, you have a full day today to explore Vietnam’s charming capital. Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his personal residence, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Tran Quoc Pagoda. End the morning with a visit to the Museum of Ethnology. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple nearby Hoan Kiem Lake. Enjoy a one-hour cyclo sightseeing tour around Hanoi Old Quarter, then, watch a traditional water puppet show.

Start at 8 am for the 3.5-hour drive through the Red River Delta, which offers plenty of chances for taking photos of Vietnamese farmers tilling the vast green paddy fields. Arrive at the pier in Halong, check in and board your junk, ready for an approximately 24-hour journey in the amazing bay. Savour a gourmet lunch of fresh seafood onboard as you sail out into the mystical bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some activities in the bay, or just spend some time relaxing.

Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise. Enjoy a light breakfast before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk, then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay. Have brunch on board. Return to the pier, then drive back to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, you'll be escorted to Hoi An.

Continue your 11 days in Vietnam today by visiting My Son Holy Land, once the spiritual capital of Champa Kingdom that dominated South East Asia for nearly a thousand years and occupied most of the central parts of Vietnam from 2nd century to 16th century. In the afternoon, drive back to Hoi An to visit the former merchants' homes, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda and the colourful riverside market. Then enjoy some leisure time in the ancient town.

After breakfast, leave Hoi An for Hue, the last imperial capital of Vietnam, well-known for magnificent architecture, pagodas and royal tombs laid in small villages and surrounding hills. En route, have a look at the famous Da Nang beach and visit the Cham Museum. Arrive in Hue and visit the Imperial Citadel, home to the Imperial City and Forbidden Purple City – once the Emperor's private residence. Later on, absorb the energy, sounds and smells of the bustling Dong Ba Market.

In the morning, you will take a beautiful dragon boat trip along the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda – one of the most popular attractions in Hue. In the afternoon, continue your tour by visiting Emperor Ming Mang and Khai Dinh tombs, which are the most beautiful works of royal architecture of the Nguyen dynasty. After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh city. Your private driver will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for check-in.

In the morning, drive outside of Ho Chi Minh city to visit the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels are an underground labyrinth of passageways, used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, head back to Ho Chi Minh city for a visit to the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office which are fine examples of classical French colonial architecture. Finish the day by visiting the War Remnants Museum and the bustling Ben Thanh Market.
