Take a break back at the Mountain Lodge before learning about the complex habitat of the area via a video presentation and guided walk to the mountain garden.

Bask in the glow of yesterday's adventures in Kinabalu Park over breakfast at the Perkasa Hotel. Take a cleansing bath in the natural sulphur and minerals of Poring Hot Springs in the park's lowlands. Then, lift your spirits further into the treetops as you walk along the 41-metre-high canopy bridge and get a closer look at bird and primate species. After lunch return to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu with an invigorating buzz from the stunning natural landscapes you have been exploring.

Begin your journey to Mari Mari Cultural Village located about 25 minutes away from the city. The journey will take you to long roads surrounded by a rich spectrum of greenery overarched by wild blue skies. Upon arrival, you will be ushered to different homes. Each home was built by descendants of the tribes they represent and offer you a truly genuine experience taking you back in time. After visiting, you'll be taken to the airport for your flight to Sandakan late afternoon.

In the morning, transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on boardwalks to the orang utan feeding at 10 am, then watch a video. After lunch, transfer to Sandakan jetty for a boat ride to Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest river, the Kinabatangan with an opportunity to see birds and wildlife. Take a river cruise in search of wildlife. Enjoy candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by a slide show with a naturalist guide.

Take a 6 am morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour along the Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with the in-house naturalist. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife as the sun sets.

In the morning, return to Sandakan by boat. After lunch, we will proceed to the airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu. For those taking the evening flight, we will have a chance to visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Proceed to Sandakan Memorial Park for a short visit before boarding your flight. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, meet our driver for your transfer to your hotel in the city.

You'll be transferred to the jetty to take a 15-minute ferry ride to Gaya Island, the largest of the islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Upon arrival, trek for about an hour and a half through coastal vegetation, mangrove swamp and lowland forest. After your trek, transfer to Sapi Island, the smallest of the five islands and well-known for snorkelling. Spend the day at leisure: go swimming, snorkelling or just laze around on the white sandy beach.

While Gaya Island is the largest and most popular of the islands, there is no shortage of quiet beaches and secret spots to make you feel like you are the only one there. Head out on a trekking adventure to see what you can find with endless jungle to explore! You may also want to spend the day relaxing at the resort and the beach set in front of it.
