Day 2

Stop by the Visitor Center for maps, info, or a ranger-led talk. After a full day of natural wonder, continue on to Kanab for a relaxing overnight stay.

Grand Canyon (North Rim), Lake Powell and on to Page

Depart Kanab early to reach the Grand Canyon’s North Rim (seasonal—check status before heading out). This quieter side of the canyon offers breathtaking views across its vast expanse. Drive the scenic route to Point Imperial and Cape Royal, stopping at overlooks and taking short walks along the way. At 8,803 feet, Point Imperial gives sweeping views of the Painted Desert and the canyon’s eastern edge.

In the afternoon, head to Lake Powell. Once a stretch of the mighty Colorado River, this deep blue lake now winds through towering red cliffs. Continue on to Page for your overnight stay.

Start with a visit to the John Wesley Powell Museum in Page. If time allows, see Rainbow Bridge, the world’s largest natural bridge. Then drive to Monument Valley, known for its towering red rock formations and classic Western scenery. Explore the 17-mile Valley Drive, visit the Navajo-run Visitor Center, and stop at the View Restaurant and Trading Post. Continue to Kayenta for the night.
