Overview
This two-week trip in Brazil takes things at a leisurely pace, allowing you lots of time to discover the main cities of the country in your own time with occasional tours to inform and inspire your journey.
Starting in Sao Paulo, you'll gradually make your way to the capital, stopping in Paraty and Ilha Grande along the way where you can laze on the beaches, or go surfing or hiking as you wish to make the most of your time in these little paradise escapes.
You'll finish your two weeks in Rio de Janeiro, the stunning capital of Brazil where you can literally launch yourself into the city by going hang gliding! This is an amazing way to see the stunning coastline of the city. The rest of your time is yours to enjoy with Rio sightseeing where you can dabble a little in the history, culture and social scene of the city.

City Tour of Sao Paulo

The largest financial centre in Latin America, Sao Paulo is a concrete jungle metropolis that warrants a little introduction. Your guide will take you around some of the top spots in the city centre so you can get to grips with the history of Sao Paulo. Some highlights of your trip are the Panificadora Santa Tereza and Cathedral da Sé.

Your day is free for you to enjoy. You can explore the city centre on foot and perhaps check out some of the museums and art galleries that are dotted around the city. Some suggestions of places that you could visit today are the Museu Do Futebol, Instituto Moreira Salles, Avenida Paulista, and Parque Trianon.

Sao Paulo to Paraty

This morning you'll check out of your hotel and take the bus to Paraty in Rio de Janeiro state. Sandwiched between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Paraty is nestled on the coast of Brazil and was once an essential part of Brazil's trading route. The town has some incredibly well-preserved colonial architecture and boasts a beautiful position on the coast, where beaches are never too far away.

Saco do Mamanguá Kayaking & Cultural Tour

Paraty to Ilha Grande

Check out of your hotel in Paraty and jump on the bus towards Ilha Grande. You'll board a boat to take you to the island and have the reminder of the day to relax in your new-found paradise. You may want to spend your first day in Ilha Grande relaxing in your hotel.

Another day, another beach. Today, you could explore a little of the town where most of the restaurants, hotels and bars are before making your way to one of the beaches. A boat trip could take you to the beaches that are a little further away and, depending on the season, you may be able to do a little surfing.

Check out of your hotel and take the boat to the mainland. There will be a bus waiting to take you to Rio de Janeiro. When you arrive in the city, you'll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day free. You may wish to explore a little or you can take some rest in the hotel.

No day in Rio is the same - you never know what will happen here! Explore at your leisure and take in the magic of this city, you may stumble across a beautiful art gallery, or walk around the corner to find samba on the streets. As this is your first full free day of Rio sightseeing, you may wish to tick off all of the top sites, like Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain - the choice is yours.
