After a relaxed breakfast, you will get ready to explore Christchurch. Walking around downtown is a great way to see what the city has to offer. Almost all tourist-relevant destinations are within walking distance of one another. If you want to get a good impression of Christchurch, you should get a famous Christchurch sightseeing ride in a small flat-bottomed boat poled by a guide dressed in Edwardian clothing. Alternatively, you can ride a tram or explore the International Antarctic Centre.

A free day to explore either Akaroa or Kaikoura on your own. Located on the southeast side of the deep, sheltered Akaroa Harbour, the charming township of Akaroa has a special point of difference - it was the only French settlement in New Zealand. When visiting Akaroa, you can admire local highlights, including Lakey Forsyth, Banks Peninsula, Gebbies Pass. If you decide to visit Kaikoura, you can take part in Whale Watching - the most popular activity there.

Today, you will pick up your rental car and start your road trip. The first stop is a picture-perfect little village called Hanmer Springs. It is the best place to indulge in water activities, with a range of 22 outdoor thermal pools including the new cascades, relaxing rock pools, soothing sulphur pools, an array of water jets and bubbles. After lunch, you will drive to Nelson, an extraordinary, vibrant region where art and commerce coexist in the midst of a breathtaking natural landscape.

Known as a sunny city, Nelson is surrounded by outdoor adventure opportunities. Whether you are looking to go relax on the beach or want to challenge yourself with rafting down rapids, Nelson has it on its doorstep. Optionally, you can drive to the nearby Kerikeri to go on the Abel Tasman Cruise.

After breakfast, start your six hours drive to Franz Josef. Sharing a name with the nearby breathtaking glacier, Franz Josef is a small town, known for being the stepping off point to exploring this spectacular World Heritage Area and the Westland Tai Poutini National Park. You can take breaks in Murchison, Greymouth and Hokitika. Once you arrive, you will check in at your hotel and refresh from the long journey.

You explore the Glacier country. Measuring 12 kilometres in length, the Franz Josef Glacier is an iconic landmark of New Zealand's South Island. Franz Josef is also one of the two most dynamic glaciers in
the world. The terminal face of Franz Josef Glacier is just 300 metres above sea level!
Optionally, you can choose to do the 30 minutes Scenic Helicopter Ride.

After breakfast, start your drive to Lake Wanaka. The route is very scenic and there are plenty of photo opportunities. Please note that while driving through Haast Pass, there is no mobile coverage. It will take more than four hours to reach Wanaka. You will visit the Puzzling World, a world of wonderful Weirdness. After that, you will drive to your accommodation to refresh and explore the beautiful town.

Explore the beautiful Wanaka at your own pace. A moderate walk up Mount Iron will reward you with spectacular views. You will visit the famous Wanaka Tree and Lavender Farm, a hidden gem and a great place to wander around relaxing amongst the lavender. You will make friends with farm animals (alpacas and lambs in spring), have a game of 'Petanque', sample some of the lovely smelling products in the quaint shop or try the delicious homemade lavender ice cream.

After a relaxed breakfast, you will start your drive to Te Anau. You will experience a mysterious underground world with a guided cave tour past the rushing water of an underground stream before drifting in silent darkness beneath the luminous shimmer of hundreds of glowworms. Once the Cave Tour is finished, you can chill out by the lakeside.

After breakfast, you will start your two hours drive to one of the most beautiful places on the earth, Milford Sound. You will jump on board the scenic cruise that have purpose-built observation lounges and large decks. This cruise will take you through sheer cliffs, massive waterfalls and glaciers. After the cruise, you will start your four hours drive back to Queenstown.

After breakfast, you will drop your car at the airport and arrange your own transport to the city centre. You will go for a thrilling jet boat ride, filled with speed, thrills and even more of those famous 360-degree spins. After that, you can take a Gondola up the hill for a magnificent 180-degree view of the City. You can also try your hand at luge.

Today, you will explore the nearby historic Arrowtown, a cute little town with tree-lined streets and numerous cafes. You will visit the Chinese Village and learn how the Chinese coped up with life during the Gold Rush era. You will wander the tree-lined streets and enjoy a cuppa in one of the numerous cafés.
