Overview

Boasting a number of incredible Italian destinations, the central region of Italy is a wonderful place to explore on your own or in a group over fifteen days.

Beginning in the city of art, Florence, you'll spend a few days getting to know this historic city and all that surrounds it in the wonderful rolling hills of Tuscany. Cooking classes, wine tastings and food tastings galore, you'll move onto Siena with a rich appetite for Italian cooking!

In the unique city of Orvieto, you'll be treated to experiences like tiramisu making in a cave and more wonderful underground tours before moving onto the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast. You'll spend a few days exploring the famous Amalfi Coast towns, the Sorrento Peninsula, the island of Capri and the famous archaeological site of Pompeii.

The final destination of your 2 week Italy itinerary will be the eternal city of Rome. Here, you'll explore the incredible Vatican Museums, known as one of the best collections of Art in the world, as well as the Sistine Chapel, St Peter's Basilica and the classic, imperial Rome monuments.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Rome's airport, you'll be transferred to the train station to hop on a train to Florence. In Florence, you'll begin your wonderful 2 week Italy itinerary! You'll have the rest of the day at leisure in Florence to shop and discover the great artistic hints that this city can provide. You may want to visit one of the many squares, climb Giotto's Bell Tower for an astonishing view of the city or perhaps just stroll through its historic streets and take it all in.

Today, you'll say goodbye to Orvieto and travel via Naples to the gateway of the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento. You'll have the rest for the afternoon and evening free to spend as you wish. You may want to explore Sorrento on your own or perhaps head to a mozzarella and olive oil farm to see how these amazing products are made and sample them accompanied by wine. You will learn how to make extra virgin olive oil and wine and you will take part in a practical demonstration of mozzarella cheese making.

On a summer's day in 79 A.D, the entire town and around 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried under tonnes of ash and pumice because of a violent explosion of Mount Vesuvius.
