Today, you'll be taken on a guided tour of Quito Historic Centre. Quito, Ecuador's capital, is a real treasure between the volcanoes of Pichincha, Cayambe and Antisana. At an elevation of 2830 metres, it is the second-highest capital in the world. It was the first city classified by the UNESCO in 1978 and its historic centre is the biggest and best maintained in Latin America. Finish the day with one foot in either side of the equator!

You will get out of Quito direction to Otavalo, passing through one of the regions where they grow the famous Ecuadorian roses and you will appreciate numerous summits of the northern Andes. Visit Cuicocha Lake, one of the most beautiful in Ecuador with shiny blue water. You'll visit the indigenous market in Otavalo before going to the San Clemente community village.

You can accompany and assist the people of the communities in their work with animals or in the preparation of breakfast. You will visit the village of Peguche, with its sacred fall and Andean instrument workshops. You may see a local music session and the weaving process, an art well established in the area. Your visit the condor park before heading back to San Clemente.

After a two-hour drive and motorized canoe ride, a professional English-Spanish guide will present a wide range of flora (primary and secondary rainforest) and fauna (birds, amphibians and insects) during walks, canoe trips and observations. He gives explanation about medicinal plants, herbs and trees and their use by the native population. This will be a thorough tour to explain the complex ecosystem of the Amazon.

Today, you'll make your way to Banos with a few stops in Puya along the way. You can take advantage of the incredible change of landscape between the Amazonia and the Andes. In Puyo, you will visit the botanical garden. Of each six species of orchids in the world, one is in Ecuador. You will visit a rehabilitation centre for monkeys of the Amazone, "Paseo de Los Monos", where you will be in contact with the animals. You'll finish the day at the most famous waterfalls in Ecuador.

A highlight of any trip to Ecuador, Banos is breathtaking. Visit the Casa del Arbol at the heights of Baños, have fun with the small installation of the canopy and listen to the presentation on the history of the eruptions made by the guard of the Military Geographical Institute. In the afternoon, you could relax at the town baths.

In the morning, head west to Chimborazo Park where you have the opportunity to climb Ecuador's highest peak. In the afternoon, you'll make your way to Riobamba, a peaceful Andean town totally rebuilt after the 1797 earthquake.

This morning, you wake early to do one of the most famous train journeys in the world, beginning in Alausi and ending in Sibambe, the "devil's nose" is a journey through unbelievable landscapes. Early afternoon, you'll head to Cuenca, but not without stopping at Ingapirca Ruins, an Incan heritage site that provides an unbelievable insight into the Incan Empire.

The city of Cuenca (2 550 m) is undoubtedly as charming as its former name of Guapondelic reveals: "the valley as great as the sky". This colourful and lively city with superb historic buildings was classified as a World Heritage by the UNESCO in 1999. The best way to feel the warm colours of Cuenca is to walk around its paved streets, along with the white houses with roman tiled roofs and flourishing wrought-iron balconies.

Journey to get to Guayaquil, Ecuador's biggest city and economic capital. Down from the mountains, you will pass by fertile lowlands with huge orchards and banana plantations before arriving in Guayaquil. When you arrive in Guayaquil, we'll do a short walking tour to get acquainted with the city.

In the morning, you'll journey south and stop at a cacao and mango plantation along the way. In the afternoon, visit the ecological reserve of Churute that aims to protect the mangrove swamp, which role is essential to protect the coast from the attacks of the ocean; a large number of fishes and shrimp spend part of their vital cycle here.
