Overview
On this four-day Bagan trip, you will uncover the history, lifestyle, local industries, culture, the legends and stories connected to this mystical place.
You will visit remote, authentic villages and both iconic and lesser-known temples. You'll enjoy a sunset cocktail cruise on the Irrawaddy River and you will also visit old wooden hall of Salay Yoke SoneKyaung Monastery and the famous Popa Mountain.

Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Myanmar, Ngat Pyit Taung Monestary Tour & Local Villages Visit

After breakfast, you'll drive to the near Ngat Pyit Taung monastery and visit the temple caves. You'll then continue to the Monastic Elementary School. For lunch, you'll come to a local restaurant, before driving to Nyaung U and nearby villages. You'll see how people live there and how to make Poneyay or plum marmalade. Later, you'll go to some local handicraft shops of lacquerware and see how to build a traditional ox cart.

Day 2
Bagan Bike Ride & Sunset Cruise

You will be taken to start your biking tour this morning. Your cycling guides know all the hidden tracks and will bring you far off the tourist trail. You'll end the morning ride with a well-deserved lunch. Then, you'll continue biking and enjoying over 2000 ancient buildings, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer size of Bagan. Finally, you'll enjoy some snacks, beer and cocktails as the golden sun sets over the Irrawaddy River on a sunset cruise.

Day 3
Day Trip to Salay & Mount Popa

Your day will begin with a drive south, parallel to the Irrawaddy River, en route to Salay. After one hour, you'll make a stop in Chauk which has a colorful morning market to explore. You'll then continue to Salay, an important center of Buddhism in Myanmar with many active monasteries. You'll then head east toward Mount Popa. The view over the Myingyan Plain from the top of the volcanic peak is impressive (and the climb is optional). In the late afternoon, you'll transfer back to Bagan.
