Overview
This Mount Kenya climb is perfect for the outdoor adventurers that want to experience the thrill of climbing Mount Kenya but are a little short on time.
During this 4-day trip, you will hike through a multitude of different landscapes and even encounter some local wildlife if you are lucky! Accompanied by an experienced local guide you will make your way to one of the highest peaks of Mount Kenya, Point Lenana, from which you will have spectacular views over the African Savannah.
This trek is ideal for those that are physically in shape but does not require any previous experience to attempt it.

Itinerary
Day 1
Start Your Mount Kenya Hike

This morning a private vehicle will pick you up at your hotel in Nairobi and take you to the Sirimon Gate in Nanyuki where you will begin your first hike of this Mount Kenya climb. Walk for three hours over a distance of nine kilometres where you will pass through dense rainforest. En route, you will enjoy a picnic lunch, before continuing to make your way to Old Moses, which stands ar 3,300 metres. Enjoy dinner in the evening at your camp.

Day 2
Trekking from Old Moses to Shipton

After breakfast at your camp, you will set off once again for the day. Today you will be hiking through a moorland where you will see a different kind of flora from yesterday's hike. You will walk through Liki Valley, then along Mackinder's Valley before arriving at Shipton camp, which stands at 4,200 metres. In the evening you will enjoy dinner there.

Mount Kenya Hike to Summit: Point Lenana

Today will be the most challenging trekking day, but also the most rewarding! You will wake up at 3 am, and after warming up with some tea and snacks, you will start hiking to Point Lenana, one of the highest points of this Mount Kenya climb to catch the sunrise. After, you will make the descent to Mintos camp for breakfast and finally make your way down to Old Moses, where you will spend the night. The hike today will take around seven hours.

Day 4
Departure From Nairobi

After breakfast this morning, you will descend on a final hike for 7 kilometres until reaching Mount Kenya Lodge. Then, a 4x4 wheel Landrover will take you to Chogoria town where you get your transport back to Nairobi. Depending on your travel arrangements, you will be dropped off at the airport to catch a flight back home, or at a hotel in Nairobi.
