Blenheim is a small town on the South Island known for being the gateway to the wineries of the Wairau Valley. You'll kick off your short trip to New Zealand with a Bike the Vines Experience, cycling between the wineries of Blenheim for the afternoon and tasting delicious local wines.
After a night in Blenheim, you'll catch a water taxi across the water from Picton to the Marlborough Sounds, passing idyllic bays. To reach your lodge, you'll have the option to hike part of the famous Queen Charlotte Track.
You'll then have the next couple of days free to explore the Marlborough Sounds and the wonderful activities on offer in this area before you return to Picton.

Day 1
Arrive in Blenheim & Bike the Vines Experience

When you arrive in Blenheim, you'll be collected at the airport for your 'Bike the Vines' experience. You'll store your luggage and get on your bike, fully equipped with a map and suggested routes to cycle through Blenheim's wine region at your own pace during the day. Later today, you will be collected by shuttle and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2
Travel to Marlborough Sounds by Water Taxi & Queen Charlotte Track Hike

This morning, you will be transferred by shuttle to Picton Wharf to board a water taxi that will take you out past idyllic bays and maybe even some dolphins, to the Marlborough Sounds. At Ship Cove, Captain Cooks favourite NZ base, you can choose to walk part of the Queen Charlotte Track to the lodge or stay on the water taxi to Furneaux Lodge if you prefer. Either way, your luggage will stay on the water taxi and be transported to the lodge.

Free Day in Marlborough Sounds

Today, you are free to do what you like. The lodge is equipped with kayaks, paddleboards and volleyball plus a hot tub and hammocks on the waterfront. You are spoilt for choice with activities in Marlborough Sounds; hiking through the forest, kayaking around the headlands, boating to a different bay, wildlife watching, fishing and so much more! You may want to jump back on a water taxi and cruise to nearby Punga Lodge for lunch then walk part of the Queen Charlotte Track back to the Lodge.
