Today, you'll travel from Christchurch to Kaikoura through this wonderful region stopping in the Waipara Valley for a wine tour at Black Estate Winery. At the end of the tour, you'll enjoy lunch in the Winery Room accompanied by a tasting of their finest wines.

Today, you'll have the day free to explore the picturesque coastal town of Kaikōura. To begin the day, you can head out on a whale-watching Kaikoura tour to spot the famous giant sperm whale. This is one of the few places in the world where sperm whales can be seen year-round and close to shore. For lunch, you can head to the famous seafood kiosk to try some crayfish and in the afternoon, you can hit the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway.
