Upon arrival at Barcelona Airport, you will pick up the car at the rental office and then drive to the hotel in Barcelona city centre. Once checked in, you'll have time to explore this wonderful city soaked in rich history and stunning architecture. Today you'll leave this cosmopolitan city behind on your drive Catalonia wine tour. En route to your next destination of Figueres, you'll stop in the Emporda wine region, where you'll visit the stunning d'Olivardots estate. After exploring the vineyard, you'll continue towards Figueres, the famous hometown of Salvador Dali. Today, you'll leave Figueres after breakfast and head towards the ancient Catalan city of Girona stopping en route to visit another Emporda winery. At the Bodega Castell de Perelada, you'll witness wine production that dates back to the middle ages combining tradition with modern technology. Once you reach Girona, you'll have time to explore this large city that is home to one of the largest and best preserved old towns in the whole of Europe.

Penedes Wine Region

Today, you'll leave Girona and cross into the Penedes wine region. Your first stop will be the Albet i Noya vineyard that has been producing wines since 1978. Here, you'll have a chance to visit the cellar, the vineyard, learn about organic wine production and even sample some of their delicious wines. Once you arrive in Vilafranca del Penedes, not far from Barcelona, you'll visit the Familia Torres and the family that has dedicated over 140 years to wine production in the Penedes.
