Bardia National Park is situated in the mid-far western Terai, east of the Karnali River. It covers 968 square kilometres of land and is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai.
About 70% of the park is covered with Sal forest with a balanced mixture of grassland, savanna and riverine forest. Since farming has ceased in the Babai valley, natural vegetation is regenerating, making it an area of prime habitat for wildlife.
The park provides excellent habitat for endangered animals like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tigers, swamp deer, blackbuck, gharial crocodile, marsh mugger crocodile and the Gangetic dolphin. You'll be welcomed upon your arrival and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. You will have a Nepal trip briefing from your guide and then you'll have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to explore Thamel and Kathmandu. After your long journey, you may simply wish to relax at your hotel.

To explore the vast area, you will take a jeep and stop many times to observe the wildlife, maybe encounter the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger along with numerous small animals and birds, and see the natural beauty of the scenery. You'll share an open jeep with other co-travellers. You will be accompanied by an experienced nature expert. In the afternoon, you'll have a picnic in the jungle.

This morning, you'll take your return flight to Kathmandu and have the afternoon free to enjoy some shopping, sightseeing or just relaxing.
