5-Day Red Centre Small Group Adventure

This small group adventure takes you to the heart of the Red Centre.

Australia's Outback is desolate and arid, yet flora and fauna, including humans, still survive in these trying conditions. With rock formations that are over millions of years old, the Aboriginal people and traditional owners of this land have lived here for over 50,000 years.

Over 5 days, you'll go on walks of varying difficulties to discover the deep gorges and rich hue of the Red Centre. Watching the landscape turn from green to yellow to orange to red is spectacular, particularly over sunset and sunrise, a dramatic performance that you will be sure to catch every day of your Outback tour.

We had an amazing experience. We felt that we had someone in our corner at all times just in case something happened and Kate and Jo did exactly that.

Would definitely recommend and be in touch with again in the future.

Client Feedback
Sudima Auckland – Wouldn’t stay there again. The staff and location were great but the rooms are very sparse, small and had a very tiny sink area. The first room they gave us was an accessible room which was substandard and seemed to have not been used in a while (there was noticeable dust in the bathroom and the phone was broken). The only other available room which was apparently offered at our rate was on the first floor. We ended paying to upgrade to a better non-accessible room which -- although it wasn’t much money and the front desk gave us a discount – we really should’ve have had to pay to get a decent room off the ground floor on a busy boulevard.
Xplor Tours/Wellington Highlights Half Tour – This was our least favorite of the tours. The guide was over 20 minutes late. The tour van was not ideal for sightseeing – windows were too small. More of a transport passenger van. Guide was just ok. Would give a “so so” recommendation.
Queenstown - Air Milford/Milford Sound Fly/Nature Cruise/Fly – The group was too big for the long bus ride to Milford – spent a long time waiting for a family to arrive and then had to make a diversion to get a baby seat they didn’t bring. A lot of chatter by a group making it hard to hear the tour guide. Must say the driver was very patient, informative and managed to keep us moving on time. Would have preferred a smaller group. However, we were ultimately glad we took a ride to Milford since we were able to stop at places we normally wouldn’t have seen close up by air (e.g., Mirror Lakes). The Milford Sound cruise was fine. The airplane ride back was fantastic! With a smaller group for the bus ride, would highly recommend.
Bush and Beach/Best of Both Worlds – It seems we were put on a different tour than originally on our proposed itinerary (which listed a Time Unlimited small group in a luxury Mercedes van). We were in a bigger group and vehicle rather than in a luxury Mercedes van, and lunch, snacks and refreshments were not provided as indicated on the proposed itinerary; rather we were brought to café/bakery to buy our own. And we had to transfer from one bus/group to another after the morning City tour during the lunch hour rather than getting lunch. (*Can you confirm that our cost was adjusted?) Nonetheless, the morning City tour was fine and the guide was informative (although his driving was a bit jerky). The afternoon beach and rainforest tour was great, and the guides were very informative and considerate. Would highly recommend the beach and rainforest tour, and would recommend the City tour with smoother driving.
Airport Transfers: All transfers were on time and very professional, helpful and friendly, with one slight exception. The Aug 3 pick up from Sudima Auckland for our Rotorua flight was more akin to an Uber ride. The car was a small blue Toyota and the driver wasn’t very friendly. Felt like he was a last minute hire by Hallmark.

Beyond Expectations: From a Seamless Journey to Stronger Bonds for my daughters

To all at travel design journeys.
Thank you, even that I could not go on the holiday my daughters had a wonderful time,
They even did not want to go back home.
They even said that they even got a lot closer with each other.
Everything went perfectly, you planed it to perfection.
Again thank you very much.

Kate is very knowledgeable about New Zealand. I gave her some ideas for activities that we were interested in and she was able to craft the perfect itinerary for us. We did a ton of fun excursions, but also had time to relax and plenty of time to get from one town to the next. I appreciate that Kate was always quick to respond to my emails. I had tons of questions for her and she never seemed to mind. I highly recommend working with Kate! We are so glad we did.
