Overview
This comprehensive trip will take you to some of the most colonial locations in Sri Lanka. During 5 days in Sri Lanka, you will visit the charming city of Kandy which sits among tropical tea plantations and mountain scenery. Sri Lanka has a rich Buddhist heritage; the first known Buddhist writings were composed on the island, you'll be visiting several sacred sites during your trip.
Whilst travelling in Sri Lanka, you'll gain a deep insight into the country's rich cultural and natural heritage, including ancient cities, tea-growing hills and Indian Ocean beaches. You'll be exploring the island and stay at some of the finest hotels, whilst being accompanied by a knowledgeable personal guide and driver.
A trip to this beautiful country would not be complete without a visit to Nuwara Eliya, a town once popular with the British settlers, the numerous colonial buildings and Georgian-style houses that still stand to this day are a testament to this.
Finally, you'll end your adventure in Colombo, a must-see port city in Sri Lanka with a rich colonial heritage, long stretching beach and numerous landmarks to explore.

Day 1
Welcome to Your 5 Days in Sri Lanka

Once you arrive in Sri Lanka, your friendly guide and driver will welcome you and transfer you to the fishing village of Negombo. Located only half an hour from the airport, you can relax after a long journey when you reach the hotel. However, if you're feeling a little energised in the afternoon, Negombo has a beautiful beach and a rich history to share with you. In the evening, dinner will be served at the hotel where you'll be able to sample the delights of Sri Lankan cuisine.

Day 2
City of Kandy

Today, you'll take a scenic drive to the city of Kandy, set on a plateau surrounded by mountains which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. Kandy is home to a number of sacred Buddhist sites which you will have plenty of time to explore, including Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Tooth, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa. In the afternoon, you'll be taken to a traditional Kandyan cultural dance show followed by dinner.

Welcome to Little England, Nuwara Eliya

Today, you'll travel to Nuwara Eliya, commonly known as Little England as it is extremely reminiscent of a typical English countryside town. Shortly after leaving Kandy, you'll visit the Royal Botanical Gardens where you can see beautiful flowers and vegetation native to Sri Lanka. You'll also visit the Ramboda Falls viewpoint, where the cascading water is a sight to behold. Once you reach Nuwara Eliya, you'll visit Gregory Lake and take in the lush scenery before checking in to your hotel.

Travel to Colombo

Today after breakfast, you'll visit the highest mountain in Sri Lanka, Piduruthalagala Mountain. Continuing onwards to Colombo, you'll have the option to experience white water rafting in the picturesque Kelani river. Once you reach Colombo in the afternoon, you'll visit Independence Square and Galle Face Green, two popular landmarks of Colombo. Here, colonial architecture competes with glass skyscrapers and the past comes alive in buildings that have withstood great winds of change.

See You Again, Sri Lanka

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, you'll have the option to go shopping in ODEL shopping complex that is filled with boutiques and international brands. You may also want to visit the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct where you can explore the stunning buildings, window-shop for local art and fabrics. Then, your driver will transfer you to the airport to catch your flight home. This is the end of your 5 days in Sri Lanka, thank you and see you soon!
