This region is the religious heartland of the nation and home to some of its oldest and most sacred Buddhist temples and monasteries. Tales of Guru Padmasambhava and the tertons (“religious treasure-discoverers”) still linger in this sacred region. You'll visit some of these temples, and go to The Burning Lake, considered by all Bhutanese as one of the most important sites in the country. Last, but certainly not least - cheese!
