Phobjikha Valley Sightseeing

Phobjikha sits at an average altitude of 3000 metres and is a wide and beautiful valley, designated as conservation zone within the Jigme Singye Wangchuk National Park. The valley is a natural habitat for wildlife, including nesting grounds for endangered black-necked cranes that migrate from Central Asia in the winter (late October and stay till March). Today, you'll take a leisurely walk on the Gangtey nature trail to learn more about the wildlife here.

Day 4

Bumthang Sightseeing

This region is the religious heartland of the nation and home to some of its oldest and most sacred Buddhist temples and monasteries. Tales of Guru Padmasambhava and the tertons (“religious treasure-discoverers”) still linger in this sacred region. You'll visit some of these temples, and go to The Burning Lake, considered by all Bhutanese as one of the most important sites in the country. Last, but certainly not least - cheese!
