Overview
Chiang Rai is the capital of Chiang Rai Province, Northern Thailand and is the main commercial centre serving the Golden Triangle border region of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. It is an excellent base for exploring the region. Chiang Rai is essentially a service city for the surrounding province.
Chiang Mai is the hub of Northern Thailand and the Capital City of the Province of this name. With a population of over 170,000 in the city proper, it is Thailand's fifth-largest city. Located on a plain at an elevation of 316 m, surrounded by mountains and lush countryside, it is much greener and quieter than the capital and has a cosmopolitan air and a significant expat population.
On this trip, you will explore both of these cities and their beautiful temples. You will also get a chance to get up and close with elephants, feeding them and taking care of them.

You will be picked up in your hotel in the Golden Triangle area and start the Art And Artists Of Chiang Rai Tour. You will Experience one of a kind point of view on Thailand's art scene and the most contrary temples of the country, starting the day with a visit to Wat Rong Khun, which means 'The White Temple'.

Explore Chiang Mai

Today, you will explore Chiang Mai's beautiful temples on your own. Inside Chiang Mai's remaining city walls are more than 30 temples dating back to the founding of the principality, in a combination of Burmese, Sri Lankan and Lanna Thai styles, decorated with beautiful wood carvings, Naga staircases, leonine and angelic guardians, gilded umbrellas and pagodas laced with gold filigree

Day With Elephants

In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Chiang Mai and drive for around 1.5 hrs to the elephant sanctuary. You will harvest elephant food such as sugar can, banana trees depending on the season and meet and learn about elephant behaviour. Before leaving, you will enjoy a Thai lunch at Elephant Park. Drop off is at your lodge in Chiang Mai around 1:30 PM.
