Travel to Gulu

Today will be a long day of travel to Gulu Start with breakfast at your lodge before we leave. You'll discover the Ugandan landscape from the comfort of the jeep. En-route stop for lunch at Kabalega Resort where you can enjoy your meal al fresco in the pretty gardens. Then, when we arrive in Gulu in the late afternoon, have a relaxing dinner and prepare for the adventure ahead tomorrow.

Day 3
Kipedo Valley National Park Game Drive

After breakfast, we will make our way to Kidepo Savannah Lodge, which is located in the lush Kipedo Valley National Park and will be your base for your safari experience. After lunch, you'll have a few hours of free time before your first game drive starts early evening. Starting from Apoka, there is a selection of circuits that you can choose to explore to see wildlife.

Kidepe Game Drive and Evening Bush Walk
Close
Enjoy an early breakfast before setting off on a game drive through Kidepo National Park. You will return to the lodge for lunch, after which you will have some free time to relax. In the early evening, there is a guided bush walk that departs from the lodge, explore the Savannah on foot with a professional game tracker who will teach you some interesting facts about the bush and tracking wildlife.

Karamojong Cultural Visit

Today has a later start, so you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast. In the late morning, you will depart on a cultural visit to meet the Karamojong people, where you will learn about their way of life and visit their traditional homesteads. Return to the lodge in time for lunch. In the late afternoon, you can join the bushwalk or relax with a book at the hotel.

This morning, breakfast will be at Kidepo Savannah Lodge. Then, begin the journey to Amuka Safari Lodge in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - this is a fantastic opportunity to see these magnificent southern white rhino in their natural habitat. On the way, stop at the Gulu Churchill Courts Hotel for lunch and at Fort Patiko where you can see the ruins of a fort and learn about its harrowing past.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Return to Entebbe

Begin the day with another delicious breakfast. Afterwards, you will make your way into the rhino sanctuary. This is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be found in the wild. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the sanctuary before you finish your big 5 safari trip and make your way to Entebbe International Airport.
