In the coastal city of Galle, you will get an insight into the rich cultural history of the Dutch fort here, that was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 1

Arrival in Colombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike international airport, a private chauffeur will greet you and then transfer you to your hotel in Colombo. You have the rest of the day free to relax after your journey or to explore the economic capital of Sri Lanka at your leisure. Here you can visit the National Museum, go to the bustling Independence Square or enjoy some shopping in the many boutique stores in the centre.

Day 2

Travel from Colombo to Kandy

Travel from Colombo to Kandy

After breakfast, you will head on a 3.5-hour journey to Kandy, which was the last Kingdom in Sri Lanka. En route, visit a spice garden for an introduction to Sri Lankan indigenous Ayurveda plants, spices and enjoy a free 15 minute Ayurveda Massage. After lunch, visit a gem museum, batik factory and wood carving factory followed by seeing an entertaining Kandyan cultural dance performance. You will spend the night in Kandy.

This morning, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy and take part in the daily morning veneration ceremony conducted at the temple. After, take a scenic 3.5-hour journey to Nuwara Eliya. En route, you will stop to see the breathtaking waterfalls of Ramboda and Lover's Leap Falls before checking in to your hotel. Later you will learn about tea production at a tea factory, walk through a lush strawberry farm and visit the famous Gregory Lake in Kandy.

Today you will visit Udawalawe, home to one of the biggest national parks, for your wildlife tour of Sri Lanka. En route to Udawalawe, you will visit the Seetha Amman Kovil in Seetha Eliya which is believed to be the site where lady Sita was held captive by King Ravana as mentioned in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Go on a jeep safari at the Udawalawe National Park and observe exotic birds and different species of animals including wild elephants and the occasional leopard.

En route to Bentota, you will stop at the coastal city of Galle, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with historical and cultural significance. Then take a boat ride on the Madu River and enjoy the sight of many species of animals living by the lush mangrove islands.

Today you have the day free to spend as you wish. You can either stay at your resort and enjoy the spa, swimming pool and volleyball courts, or you can have a relaxing beach day in nearby Bentota. Bentota beach is an unspoiled stretch of sand with few tourists and is a popular place to indulge in some watersports. You can do anything from kite-surfing to water skiing or banana boat rides.
