Embark on a scenic drive to the southwest corner of Western Australia, an area renowned for its abundant flora, fauna and rich history!

Beginning in Perth, you'll have the day to familiarise yourself with the city as well as a whole day dedicated to exploring the stunning pocket of paradise just offshore - Rottnest Island. Beginning your self-drive journey, your first destination will be Margaret River via the charming towns and city of Mandurah, Preston Beach, Bunbury and Busselton. Look out for the pods of bottlenose dolphins and stunning migratory birds on your journey!

A day to explore Margaret River will leave you free to dot between over 90 cellar doors for some world-class wine tasting. The next day the scenic journey to Albany will lead you through Pemberton, the town surrounded by marvellous Karri trees and known for its stunning variety of wildflowers as well as some of the finest wine on Australia's west coast.

Before leaving Albany to return to Perth, you'll have the day to explore the port city known for its stories of Aboriginal custodians, convicts, sailors and whalers. The city marks the spot where the first European settlers arrived in Western Australia and the legacy lives on in the city through its colonial buildings!

Your self-drive Perth and Margaret River trip will begin with a free afternoon and evening in the city. Overlooking the Swan River, Perth is a vibrant paradise of uncrowded beaches with a thriving food scene and an up-and-coming shopping and boutique store scene. During your free time, you can stroll its trendy streets, visit the Kings Park Botanical Gardens or even take a treetop walk for a unique view of the city.

Day 2

Day Trip to Rottnest Island from Perth

Today, you'll take advantage of your round trip ferry tickets to Rottnest Island spend the day on this pocket of paradise, most notably home to the adorable Quokka. During your 1.5-hour cruise along the Swan River, you'll listen to informative Captain's commentary and relax whilst enjoying the scenic views. Besides cute animals, the island boasts white-sanded beaches, secluded coves, shallow sparkling waters, great surf breaks and a rich cultural heritage that can keep you busy all day.

Today, you'll self-drive from Perth to Margaret with a number of notable stops along the way! The first stop is Mandurah, Western Australia's second city home to an abundance of wildlife including dolphins and migratory birdlife. After a short stop in the coastal town of Preston Beach, you can continue to Bunbury to spot the pods of bottlenose dolphins in the inlet. Finally, before reaching Margaret River, a stop in Busselton to take a stroll along the 1.8-kilometre jetty is a must.

Today, you'll drive to your next stop, Albany. On the waym, you'll stop in Pemberton, the town surrounded by marvellous Karri trees and known for its stunning variety of wildflowers as well as some of the finest wine in Australia's west coast. Here, you can get lost in the verdant nature of Pemberton on hiking trails, bush walks, in canoes out on lakes and down white sand dunes in Yeagarup. In the afternoon, you'll continue the journey to Albany.
