This essential 8-day Sicily trip will take you through the most incredible, must-see locations of this beautiful island. Being at the centre of the Mediterranean sea, it is an island rich in history, culture, art and exquisite food.

Travelling by luxury car, you will have the opportunity to admire the regional capital Palermo with its unique examples of Romanesque and Baroque architecture, the magnificent and well preserved Valley of the Temples, the 3,000-year-old Syracuse World Heritage Site, and the popular Taormina with its ancient and still used Greek theatre.

You'll end this Sicilian adventure with a visit to the tallest and still active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna, to take in the unbelievable sea views and views of the surrounding countryside.

Magnificent Monreale

Visit one of the most important national monuments in Italy and one of the most sought after attractions on the island of Sicily, Monreale Cathedral. Built in the 12th century, Monreale Cathedral is one of the greatest examples of Norman architecture. As well as the stunning mosaics of the cathedral and the 200-columned abbey cloister, you can explore the medieval village of Monreale before returning to Palermo.

Today, you'll visit one of Sicily's most important monuments to its classical ancient Greek history. Leaving Palermo behind, you'll head to the Valley of the Temples. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park is home to seven magnificent Greek temples with date back to the 6th and 5th centuries BC. Throughout the park, the olive and almond trees create a perfect harmony with the atmosphere of an ancient civilisation.

Syracuse was described as the best Greek city and the most beautiful of it all. The archaeological site stands testament to the development of the Mediterranean civilisation over the past 3,000 years.

The Mighty Mount Etna

Take a trip up Europe's most active volcano. At 3,320 metres, Mount Etna is also Europe's biggest volcano with a base circumference of 93 miles. You'll begin in the foothills of the mighty volcano, taking in the exotic wildlife with your guide before embarking on a relaxing walking tour to Rifugio Sapienza, which includes the famous Monti Silvestri Craters. Here, you will be able to take in unbelievable sea views and views of the surrounding countryside.
