Admire the captivating beauty of Krka and Plitvice Lakes National Parks, feast on straight-from-the-sea fare in Zadar, and discover why the capital of Croatia, Zagreb is so popular.

Hike, row, or swim in Lake Bled to take in its enchanting beauty, and finally, join a walking tour of the always elegant Ljubljana. This self-drive trip will be dynamic yet relaxing, but most of all, it will leave you wanting more.

Day 1

Welcome to the “Pearl of the Adriatic”. Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Despite being tired from the journey, you’ll likely want to get out and explore. Dubrovnik is one of the most ancient fortress cities in Europe. After spending some time exploring the city, duck into one of Dubrovnik's many wine bars to relax. There's no better way to celebrate your first day in Croatia than by enjoying a glass of white or red wine as the sun goes down.

Walking Tour of Dubrovnik

Make sure you have breakfast as you will be doing a lot of walking! The walking tour takes you around the Old Town via Onofrio's Fountain, Prijeko Street and the Old Port - the key to Dubrovnik's trading and maritime success. Along the way, visit St. Saviour's, the Franciscan and Dominican church, and see vines more than 100 years old. Your guide will relay intriguing stories of Quarantine, St. Luke and St. John; Church of St Blaise, the Cathedral, the Rector's Palace, and Orlando's Column.

Day 3

Drive to Split via Ston

Pick up your car rental and head along the coast to central Dalmatia and Split. En route, stop at the edge of the Pelješac peninsula in Ston. Trek one of the longest defensive stone walls in Europe and enjoy sweeping views over the city and its glittering saltpans—one of the oldest active in the Mediterranean—followed by a tasting of fresh oysters or mussels paired with a glass of Dingač red wine. Continue your journey up the coast to Split and take the afternoon to wander the historic centre.

Travel to Zadar via Skradin

Travel to Zadar via Skradin

Today, you'll spend time exploring the Adriatic Coast as you make your way from Split up to Zadar. Break up the trip with Krka National Park, stopping first in Skradin. Cycling around the Krka River National Park is breathtaking, there is no better way to discover the park. Our first stop will be at Lake Visovac where a boat will take us to an islet with a Franciscan monastery. Stop for a swim in Skradinski Buk Waterfall. You can stay in Skradin for a bit or make your way towards Zadar.

Don't miss Plitvice Lakes National Park when seeing the Croatia highlights. The UNESCO-protected park is home to an exquisite collection of 16 glassy lakes, more than 90 cascading waterfalls and numerous caves. Beech and pine forests surround the lakes. Here, an expert local guide will lead you through the park to show you the most impressive points of interest and explain the significance of its history and natural features. After your tour, you will have some free time to continue exploring.

Your drive will take you to the border of Slovenia and the shores of Lake Bled, with a quick detour to Ljubljana to pick up your guide. Bled is a postcard-perfect lake surrounded by the Julian Alps. If you're up for a hike, you can walk through beautiful gorges and to scenic viewpoints. Climb up to Bled Castle and tour its smithy and wine cellar. Later, explore the lively Ljubjana and saunter down the main street along the banks of the river, stopping wherever strikes your fancy.
