Today you will go on an exciting tour of Quito to discover the rich history that lies within this city. In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to visit the monument of the Middle of the World, where French explorer Charles Marie de la Condamine once calculated the globe's equatorial line. Then, go on a tour to visit the historic centre of Quito's old town and discover the charm of the numerous churches that dot the streets.

On this day you will be going to the north of the country to Otavalo. The area is surrounded by volcanoes and the landscape you will see on the drive there is breathtaking. In Otavalo, you will visit one of the largest indigenous markets in the Americas, where you can admire the textiles, pottery and jewellery made by local artisans. After lunch in a local "hacienda", you will return to your hotel in Quito.

This morning you will wake up early and transfer to the airport. Your trip to the Galapagos Islands will take 1 hour by plane. Once you arrive, you will take a bus to the harbour in Baltra where you will board the yacht you will be staying at for the next few days. In the afternoon you will visit the small islet of Mosquera, that features a long stretch of white sand and an abundance of wildlife such as sea lions and red lava crabs.

Today the boat will take you to visit Genovesa Island, one of the most precious islands in the Galapagos. In the morning you will visit Darwin Bay, one of the best islands for birdwatchers. Here you will see masked boobies, lava gulls and yellow warblers amongst others. In the afternoon, head to Prince Phillip Steps, located at the southern part of Darwin Bay.

You will start your day by going to South Plaza Island, where you will find some of the most interesting species of Galapagos, such as the Plazas land iguanas. The large population of iguanas is found here due to the presence of tuna, their favourite food. After, set sail to the island of Santa Fe, one of the oldest islands in the archipelago. Here you can admire the many sea lion colonies that live here and you will do some snorkelling on the crystal clear waters.

This morning you will visit the famous Leon Dormido, a large rock formation that is an old lava cone and now split into two. On the rocks, you can see many blue-footed boobies and frigate birds, and there is also some excellent snorkelling to be done here, where you'll get a chance to see sea turtles, eagle rays and even the Galapagos shark. This will complete your trip to the Galapagos Islands and then you will catch a short two-hour flight back to Quito from San Cristobal airport.
