Overview
On this 9-day Vietnam itinerary, you will visit the highlights of northern Vietnam, stopping off in Hanoi, Sapa and Halong Bay.
In Sapa, you'll visit the villages and markets of this mountainous region, taking in the misty valleys and getting to know more about the ethnic tribes of Sapa. You'll take a night train back to Hanoi and have some time to refresh before you reach flight to Central Vietnam to see Hoi An Ancient Town, recently voted the best city in the world.
When in Hoi An, you'll have the chance to learn about the many different trades that the people of Central Vietnam have, something which is often missed when visiting this charming city.

Start Your 9-Day Vietnam Itinerary

Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long

The driver will come to pick you up between 8 and 8.30 am to transfer to Halong Bay. Day 3
Thien Canh Son Cave and Night Train to Sapa

Wake up fresh up by doing Tai Chi. There will be a choice of a western or Vietnamese breakfast with tea and coffee. Then, explore the Thien Canh Son Cave and learn about the history of Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and this cave. Finish your cruise experience with a cooking demonstration and then make Vietnamese cuisine by yourself. Go back to Hanoi to get the night train to Sapa.

Sapa Arrival and Lung Khau Nhin Market

Your 9-day Vietnam itinerary will have you in Sapa early morning. The guide and driver come to pick up for breakfast, then visit Lung Khau Nhin Market where groups of people with colourful costumes sell goods. In the crowded market, it is easy to recognise each group buying and selling agricultural products. It's a great chance to try some local dishes, such as doughnuts or rolls.

Cat Cat Village, Lao Chai and Ta Van

The village is within easy walking distance from any hotel in downtown Sapa.

Day 6
Flight to Danang and Hoi An

Arrive Hanoi in the early morning from Sapa. You will move to A25 Hotel near the station to have breakfast and relax until the driver comes to pick you up to go to the airport to fly to Danang. When you arrive in Danang you will be transferred to Hoi An, which is 30 minutes away. When you arrive, relax in the hotel.

Day 7
Cycling to Tra Nhieu Fishing Village

The guide takes you from your hotel to the boat to cross the river Thu Bon for about 15 minutes, to the Kim Bong carpenters village. You will visit the shipbuilding, wood carving, mosaic and other workshops. The locals will teach you how to make the traditional wooden boats that go across the rivers and you can try the famous basket boats at Mr Kha’s workshop that has run for 85 years, woven by bamboo and palm trees.

Relax in Hoian

Alternatively, you can make your way to An Bang Village to enjoy one of the most famous beaches in the world.
