Discover the hidden gems of three beautiful cities with this Italy tour package! This unique trip to Rome, Florence and Venice will allow you to discover some of the unknown and off-the-touristic-path historical beauties of the cities, often not even well-known among the locals.

Beginning in the capital, you'll explore the marvels of Ancient Rome including a visit to the Musei Capitolini, a walk along the Roman Legionnaire Pathways and the Necropolis beneath the Vatican City. Moving onto the city built on water, you'll explore Doge's Palace, Moncenigo, and Contarini del Bovolo with the famous spiralling staircase. As if Venice wasn't beautiful enough, you'll explore the beautiful islands surrounding Venice including Torcello, Burano and Mazzorbo.

Finishing in the home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture, Florence, you'll hunt down the masterpieces of Michelangelo including the Gallerie dell'Academia, Palazzo Vecchio Casa Buonarroti, the 17th-century gardens of Florence in Bardini Villa and, of course, learn all about Florence's renowned leather making and silk weaving industries.

Day 1

Arrive in Rome

After being transferred from the airport to your hotel, you will discover Rome's classic monuments with an afternoon tour of some of the city's finest treasures. Beginning with the famous Trevi Fountain, you'll then move onto the iconic symbol of Rome, the Pantheon, which dates back almost 2,000 years. The tour will finish with a visit to Rome's most popular meeting point, the Spanish Steps and a visit to Piazza Navona and Piazza Venezia, followed by a sumptuous dinner.

You'll begin the day by visiting the Capitoline Museum, a 15th-century museum home to a large collection of Bronze statues donated to the people of Rome by Pope Sixtus IV in 1471. Following a break for lunch, you'll head to the famous Appian Way, where you'll walk along the long straight cobblestone road, which is gloriously flanked by catacombs, churches, ruins and ancient tombs. You'll finish this tour of Rome's Gems by walking along the most preserved stretches of the Aurelian Wall.

In the morning, you'll visit St Clement's Basilica, a unique insight into the archaeological timeline from Ancient Rome to the beginning of the Middle Ages. You'll then head to the Roman Houses in Celian Hill, where the wealthy lived during the 2nd to 4th centuries. After lunch in a typical roman "trattoria", you'll visit the Basilica of the Sacconi Rossi to learn about the group of people responsible for caring for the unclaimed bodies founded in the River Tiber during the 17th century.

Today, you'll hop aboard a first-class train that will take you to Venice. After checking in to your hotel, in the afternoon, you'll venture out on a tour of the city to visit the Doge's Palace, a palace that has been rebuilt several times leaving it with a variety of styles from over the centuries, and the famous Scala Contarini del Bovolo, the 15th-century, multi-arched spiralling staircase.

Today, you'll visit the islands surrounding Venice, far away from the crowds of the bustling city. Beginning with San Francesco del Deserto, an island inhabited since Roman times, you'll then move onto Mazzorbo, an island rich in beauty and history which is often missed off the typical tourist's itinerary in favour for its more colourful neighbours. After relacing with an aperitif at the Locanda Cipriani, the Ernest Hemingway inspired retreat, you'll visit the famous Murano Glass Museum.

You'll begin the morning with a tour of Ca d'Oro, one of the most beautiful buildings on the Grand Canal home to an extensive art collection. You'll then visit the Basilica della Salute and its Sacrestia, which is famous for the artworks of Tiziano and Tintoretto and its dome which dominates the Venetian skyline. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Palazzo Mocenigo home to the stunning Mocenigo Museum and then the Gallerie dell'Accademia, one of the most beautiful museums in the world.

You'll begin by visiting the Gallerie dell'Accademia Florence, which is home to one of the most stunning and most famous collections of his work, followed by a visit to Italy's first national museum, Bargello. Finishing the day at Casa Buonarroti, you'll witness some more of Michelangelo's great work.
