Enjoy some shopping as well as small coffee shops, restaurants and gelato stands within the rampart walls of the fort. Today your Sri Lanka trip itinerary takes you along the coast to Mirissa. En-route, you'll stop by the famous coconut tree swing in Dalawella Beach to take a swing and capture some amazing photos. Dalawella Beach is located on the south-west coastline of Sri Lanka near the popular town of Unawatuna. You can also visit the stilt fisherman who still use this traditional sea fishing method that is synonymous with Sri Lanka.

Today is yours to enjoy as you wish. You can simply hit the beach (and not move) or you could take an optional early morning whale watching tour to witness these gentle giants of the ocean. The whale watching season is usually from November to April and you can usually see various types of whales, dolphins and sharks in what is regarded as one of the best whale-watching spots in the world.

Today's journey takes you to Yala National Park which is approximately a three-hour drive. After check-in at Cinnamon Wild Yala, you'll venture out on an evening jeep safari at the Yala National Park, home to the highest density of leopards in the world and the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka. During your trip around the park, you'll have the opportunity to spot the largest concentration of leopards in the world, as well as one of the greatest herds of elephants.

It's an early start but well worth it. The early morning safari will start at 5.30am but gives you a different perspective to last night's adventure. You'll witness the animal kingdom come to life as the golden rays of the sunlight up the park. During the early morning safaris, you're more likely to spot the elusive leopard so cross your fingers and keep your eyes peeled! Hopefully, your camera skills are honed and ready to capture those prize sightings to share with the world at home!

It is approximately a 5-hour drive from Yala to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, and this morning after breakfast you'll set off on this journey. Colombo is known for its small bars with great live music, lively casinos with roulette tables, fabulous restaurants serving delicious food, themed pubs and a very enthusiastic crowd - it has it all! You'll arrive in the late afternoon and have ample time to explore the city.

You have the option to experience a Colombo city tour in an open-air World War II or Vietnam War jeep. All jeeps are open-air so provide unobstructed 360-degree visibility which is great for taking photos or videos. Bottled water and soft drinks are supplied whilst on the tour and at the end, you’ll be given complimentary photos and a video of the tour. In the afternoon, you'll have some free time to explore Colombo on your own.
