Overview
Go walking in the Peloponnese and visit some of the lesser-known parts of Greece.
Starting in Athens, you will explore the ancient wonders of the Parthenon and Acropolis while a private guide will introduce you to the adventurous and historic side of Athens!
Next, you will take a trip through the old country, the Peloponnese! Your days will be filled with white-water rafting, and hiking the famous mountain of Taygetos, where the ancient Spartans would train their army. You will get to experience the authentic side of Greece, mingling with locals, and eating at the best restaurants and tavernas, untouched by tourism.
In the last days of your trip, you will be based on the island of Kythera. Known as the island of Aphrodite, Kythera is home to spectacular trails, running through gorges, old settlements, castles, and waterfalls.
From the moment you step foot in Greece until the moment you leave, you will be guided through the country as a guest and you will leave with a thousand beautiful memories.

Day 1
Welcome to Athens!

No matter what time your flight arrives, you will be received with a warm welcome to Greece. Athens, one of the oldest cities in the world, has many ancient and modern wonders to explore. After you acclimate to the beautiful Mediterranean weather, you will embark on a private evening tour of Athens. Walking through the cobblestones of Plaka and Monastiraki, you will get your first look at the Acropolis!

Day 2
Explore the City of Athens

A full day of history awaits you, that will take you through the symbol of Athens, the Parthenon, and the sixth-best museum in the world, the Acropolis museum. One of Athens best archaeologists will be there to privately guide you and unravel 3,000 years of Athenian history. After lunch, your tour will continue to the trilogy of Athens: Thission, Kallimarmaro Stadium and many hidden picturesque neighbourhoods around Athens.

Day 3
Nafplio to Dimitsana

Your first stop today is the Corinthian Canal. Next, Epidaurus, where you will snorkel amongst the ruins of an ancient city. Continue to Nafplio, a romantic old town which is the perfect place to gaze at old castles, have lunch and walk along the waterfront. In the evening, you will make your way to Dimitsana, a traditional little village that is famous for its stunning nature. Your expert archaeologist will be with you for the whole day, to make the most of every sight.

Day 4
Rafting in the River Lousios

A full day of adventuring awaits you. You will raft down the river of Lousios, according to ancient Greek mythology, this is were the nymphs bathed baby Zeus for the first time. Lunch will be served at a traditional local taverna. The evening is free for you to explore the area, or rest for before the big hiking trip!

Day 5
Hiking the Taygetos Trail
Hide details
Take an early morning drive to the spring of Maganiari. This is where your two-day adventure begins. During the first part of your hike, you will encounter the imposing black pine trees, characteristic of this region. Further along the trail, you will make a stop at the historical hit of the mountaineering club of Sparta, before reaching your shelter for the night at 1,550 metres.

Day 6
Explore the Taygetos Trail
Hide details
Wake up in the serene silence of the mountain. On the second day, you will pass by the famous enigmatic pyramid of Taygetos, and summit near the chapel of Prophet Elias. At the end of your hike, you will be welcomed by your friendly guides that will take you to your hotel in Kalamata. A feast-like dinner will be arranged for you at night, to recharge after walking in the Peloponnese.

Explore Kalamata

A day of rest and relaxation is planned ahead. Kalamata is renowned for its olives and extra-virgin-olive-oil. An optional food tour can be arranged for you today, with lots of local delicacies! Your guide will navigate you through the streets of Kalamata and introduce you to the history of the area. You will also get to explore local food markets and try many of the distinguished flavours of Kalamata.

Welcome to Kythera

Take an early morning drive back to Athens, where you will catch a flight to the majestic island of Kythera. Kythera is famous for its rugged and virgin nature, and the diving site where the ancient mechanism of Antikythera was found. An extensive network of trails runs around the island, that you will get to discover in the following days.

The Legends of Kythera

Start your day with a homemade breakfast at your guesthouse. Later this morning a private tour of the island will be arranged for you, with a local guide. You will go hiking through traditional villages untouched by tourism, lagoons, waterfalls, and gorges. After your return, you will have some time for rest, before heading to yet another delicious Greek dinner specially made for you.

Full-Day Tour of Kythera

A full day of exploring Kythera awaits you. Starting in the morning with a traditional breakfast, you will explore the flee market, and discover the secret castle settlement of Paleochora. Your day will continue with a nature walk and finish well into the night with a local fish soup prepared on the beach. This is the perfect day to explore the culture and nature present in Kythera!
