A day in Kandy and its surroundings. Attend a traditional Kandyan Dance Show and discover the different traditional dances and costumes as well as a demonstration of walking on fire. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred temple that contains the most important Buddhist relic in the country. The legend says that the tooth was stolen from the Buddha's funeral pyre and brought to Sri Lanka hidden in the hair of a princess.

Go from Kandy to Sigiriya and enjoy some free time. For lovers of ancient rocks, you can visit the Dambulla Caves or Polonnaruwa, the second royal capital of ancient Lanka whose remains are scattered in a beautiful park. Get off the beaten path and explore the ruins of Ritigala scattered in the jungle or take a hot-air balloon ride. The area also offers gorgeous scenery that you can discover during an exotic safari in the parks of Kaudulla, Minneriya or Wasgamuwa.

Take a day in Sigiriya and its surroundings. Visit the famous UNESCO-listed Fortress of Sigiriya, also known as Lion's Rock. The fortress complex includes remnants of a ruined palace, surrounded by an extensive network of fortifications, vast gardens, ponds, canals, alleys and fountains. The ruins of Kassapa Palace are a must-see, renowned for its frescoes and 360 ° views of the surrounding valley. You'll be free afternoon.

The national park is home to many elephants that feed and bathe at the Minneriya Reservoir among many other animals that you might see today. Then, you'll hop on a bicycle and set out on two wheels to explore the vast Polonnaruwa wooded park and discover the ruins further away. We'll spend the day here, then return to Sigiriya before nightfall.

Early in the morning, you set off for a snorkelling excursion in Pigeon Island National Park. Highly appreciated by the locals, this is a great spot to observe colourful fish and sea turtles. Although the island has suffered a little from tourism, great conservation efforts have been put in place to maintain life here. Enjoy a free day in Trincomalee, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. This part of the east coast is also well-known for the lovely beaches of Uppuveli and Nilaveli. If you are feeling adventurous, you can visit Fort Frederick, rebuilt by the Dutch in the 18th century; Konesvaram Temple, a Hindu temple overlooking the ocean or Saint Mary's Cathedral.

Today you visit the royal city of Anuradhapura.
