Why not go for a boat trip in the mangrove of Muthurajawela or on the Dutch canal? As you slide along the water in the channels lined with lush vegetation, you are accompanied by birds, monkeys and monitor lizards. Sometimes even a crocodile might surprise you!

A day in Kandy and its surroundings. Attend a traditional Kandyan Dance Show and discover the different traditional dances and costumes as well as a demonstration of walking on fire. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred temple that contains the most important Buddhist relic in the country. The legend says that the tooth was stolen from the Buddha's funeral pyre and brought to Sri Lanka hidden in the hair of a princess.

Take a day in Sigiriya and its surroundings. Visit the famous UNESCO-listed Fortress of Sigiriya, also known as Lion's Rock. The fortress complex includes remnants of a ruined palace, surrounded by an extensive network of fortifications, vast gardens, ponds, canals, alleys and fountains. The ruins of Kassapa Palace are a must-see, renowned for its frescoes and 360 ° views of the surrounding valley. You'll be free afternoon.

Today on this Sri Lanka family tour, you have a half-day entrance ticket to Minneriya National Park. The national park is home to many elephants that feed and bathe at the Minneriya Reservoir among many other animals that you might see today. From Sigiriya, we'll visit Polonnaruwa, another of the ancient royal capitals. Take your time strolling through the ruins of this impressive site full of treasures and archaeological remains. Then, you'll hop on a bicycle and set out on two wheels to explore the vast Polonnaruwa wooded park and discover the ruins further away. We'll spend the day here, then return to Sigiriya before nightfall.

Visit the sacred tree of Anuradhapura, Sri Maha Bodhi, which has been revered with the same fervour for over 2400 years. Late afternoon, we travel to Negombo.
