Overview

Spend two wonderful weeks Nepal sightseeing and explore the capital city of Kathmandu as well as the sacred sites of the Kathmandu Valley, including the cities of Pokhara and Bhaktapur.

You'll visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley and taste the incredible fusion of Hinduism and Buddhism. You'll walk along the alleys that lead to different squares, ancient palaces and temples like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhu Nath Temple, Pashupati Nath Temple, Boudha Stupa, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and more.

The setting of Pokhara city is so enthralling that you will fall in love at the very first sight. As you land in Pokhara, you are welcomed by the towering giant Fishtail Mountain, behind the enchanting Annapurna range standing above 8,000 metres.

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You'll then have the rest of the afternoon and evening to either relax at your hotel or head out and explore the city on your own.

Drive to Pokhara

This morning, you'll catch an early morning bus to Pokhara. It is a six to seven-hour drive. You'll travel along the Prithivi Highway and enjoy the rustic environment throughout. In the late afternoon, you'll arrive in Pokhara and have the rest of the day free to explore and to relax.

You'll start your day right waking up at 5.30 am to drive uphill to Sarangkot viewpoint. From here, you'll get to see a world-class sunrise. Witness the art of snow-capped mountains come to life in vibrant colours from the rising sun. You'll then have some time to explore Pokhara lakeside, take a boat trip or do a little shopping.

Day 4

This morning, you'll be taken to Dhampus which is a two-hour drive away. This is the starting point for the one-hour hike to the Australian Camp where you'll be staying for the night. When you arrive, you'll enjoy the views from this scenic point and get ready for a spectacular sunset!

Today, after breakfast, you'll take a leisurely drive back to Pokhara. After the hotel check-in, you'll have some free time to explore Pokhara. Today, you can rest in one of the cafes next to the river and perhaps have dinner there too.

Today, you'll have the morning to visit some more of Kathmandu's sights including Basantapur Durbar. Found on the banks of the river Bagmati, Pashupatinath is one of the most famous and sacred temples in the Kathmandu valley, acting as the seat of the national deity of the same name. After lunch, you'll say goodbye to the city drive to Bhaktapur for the night.

You'll start the scenic six-hour hiking trail to Nagarkot, a hill station offering spectacular sunset views over the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan mountain region. Starting at Changu Narayan, you'll explore the stunning temple found here before beginning the hike. Part of the hike is the Nagarkot Nature Hiking Trail, which takes around three and a half hours to complete and includes Tamang village. This journey offers panoramic views throughout.

As usual, you'll hit the trail after breakfast. Today, with your guide, you'll head to Namo Buddha, a historical place and one of the four holiest Buddhist shrines. You will explore the area that includes a legendry Buddhist stupa, Phenomenal Buddhist Monastery and more. You'll spend the night at Namo Buddha Organic Resort.

Cycling from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha

Today, it is time to push on and paddle the road, mostly downhill from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha. Along the way, you'll pass through many Newari villages before descending to Namobuddha and the monastery at 1,750 metres. This historic Buddhist shrine has amazing mountain views. It is believed that it is in this exact location that Buddha gave up his body. At 3 pm, you can participate in a prayer ritual.
