You'll be warmly welcomed upon your arrival and transferred to your hotel by private car. You'll meet your guide for a trip briefing and necessary formalities. The city itself can be an overwhelming experience of sounds, sights and smells but it is worth taking the time to explore its narrow alleyways in a rickshaw, marvel at the medieval temples or stroll the backpacker district of Thamel.

Drive to Bhaktapur, Sightseeing & Homestay

After breakfast, you'll take a 45-minute transfer by private car to Bhaktapur. You'll enjoy a city tour through brick-paved narrow alleys connecting to open squares with a number of Hindu and Buddhist shrines. You'll be mesmerised by the ancient Newari history, architecture, culture and taste authentic Newari food. Then, you'll take a short drive to your homestay, a pleasant walk and sample the typical local food with the family in the evening.

Five-Hour Trek to Lakuri Bhanjyang

After breakfast, you'll walk through a serene forest and across the hidden village of Katunje and Gundu. With your local guide, you will visit the Hindu Ananta Lingeshwar Mahadev temple and then continue uphill to Lakuri Bhanjyang with spectacular mountain views. Tonight, you'll stay at a resort which offers ‘comfort beyond the clouds’ which may be needed after your walk.

Trek to Panauti & Drive Back to Bhaktapur

This morning, you'll wake up to a beautiful sunrise before breakfast. Then, with a full belly, you'll embark on a hike to Panauti via the hill station, Lakuri Bhanjyang, and Kusa Devi villages. You'll stop and rest at Panauti for lunch and take a local bus back to Bhaktapur for your final night. In the evening, you can explore the city on your own.
